We need 16 more people for the Study Day on the 12th November.
(This is to cover costs)

The Study Day will be divided into 3 talks:

First  - looking at techniques and materials in paintings form the 15th to the 18th centuries.
Second - Discovering family likenesses and significant characteristics; both talks looking at a number of physical and stylistic features that make it possible for us to identify date, place of production and also the background of an artist.
The final talk -  This  will examine a specific group of artists and give us a chance to try out our budding connoisseurial skills of recognition.

Chantal Brotherton-Ratcliffe, trained as a paintings conservator before moving into Art History working for Sotheby's in their teaching department.
She has lectured in old Master Paintings at Sotheby's Institute of Art for over 30 years.
